Pottery
Course Overview
Beginners Pottery This course became popular and is now continuing for a second term in Spring, starting March. Over the course of our 8 week pottery classes, students will learn a range of skills and participate in a variety of aspects of pottery including slab work, pinch pottery, coil work and hand sculpting. They will also be introduced to fine art ceramic sculpture making and have the opportunity to create a sculpture. The Introduction to Pottery class is ideal for those with no past experience as well as those who wish to build their confidence and expand their skills in a relaxed, supportive environment. The topic and technique will vary from week to week as students are introduced to the world of pottery. As they gain confidence they will have the opportunity to develop more personal artefacts and explore their interests. Our pottery class continues to attract participants from across Dublin and surrounding counties and this year our online classes provide us with the opportunity to extend our welcome to participants from even further afield. Additional Information Each student will be provided with their own pottery pack including clay, construction, moulding and decorative tools they will need throughout the course. All finished materials can be fired in the school kiln at specific times during the course. Borrowed tools will need to be returned on completion of the course when you collect your pottery pieces.
