Course Overview
Pottery Over the course of our 10 week pottery classes, students will learn a range of skills and participate in a variety of aspects of pottery. They will also be introduced to fine art ceramic sculpture making and have the opportunity to create a sculpture. The Introduction to Pottery class is ideal for those with no past experience as well as those who wish to build their confidence and expand their skills in a relaxed, supportive environment. The topic and technique will vary from week to week as students are introduced to the world of pottery. As they gain confidence they will have the opportunity to develop more personal artefacts and explore their interests. Beginners Start date Tuesday 18th January Course Content: Materials and equipment Hand Sculpting Introduction to potters’ wheel Decorating, glazing Intermediate Start date Wednesday 19th January Additional Information Clay and all materials will be provided. Tutor details Rebecca Armstrong Rebecca has a BA Hons degree in Education and Design and has over 6 years experience teaching art at secondary school level. She has taught pottery and ceramics in a wide range of settings including primary school settings, Easter and Summer camps, having most recently began teaching with the St. Colmcilles's Adult Education programme in January 2020 |
