Course Overview
Beginners
The Patchwork Quilting for Beginners class offers students the opportunity to learn the basic skills of patchwork and how to make beautiful patchwork quilts. No previous sewing experience is necessary. Over the duration of the course, students will learn how to put together various blocks of patchwork including Ohio Star, Log Cabin, and Baby Blocks, as well as learn Appliqué and Quilting techniques. Students are welcome to bring their own sewing machines, but some machines will be supplied by the school for the class.
Intermediate Tuesday / Wednesday
The Intermediate 1 Patchwork Quilting course is ideal for students who have a some knowledge of patchwork quilting, good sewing skills and are competent with a sewing machine. Students work through a variety of individual and group projects using patchwork techniques. Students have the flexibility to choose their our projects. It is not essential that you have done Patchwork Quilting for Beginners at St Colmcille’s before advancing to this class, but some experience of patchwork is required. Many of our students advance to this class in time.

Tutor: Deirdre Carroll
Deirdre has spent many years with us here is St Colmcille's. She has many years experience, is patient and so enthusiastic to see her students progress. On our exhibition nights the worked produced is exceptional and has that wow factor even the beginners after ten weeks. Many students move on to the next levels and the advance classes just enjoy Deirdre's creativity and the social aspect of the class.
