Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga done while seated. It makes the practice accessible for people who find balance or getting up and down off the floor challenging. We can move into postures while seated and still focus on the same core principles: connecting with the breath, lengthening and strengthening muscles and paying attention to thoughts. Research shows yoga is linked to decreased stress levels, anxiety and pain. People also report improved mood, mobility, energy and sleep quality. Michele has been teaching yoga for 20 years and has trained extensively in therapeutic applications of yoga, Pilates and meditation.
