Woodturning

Course Overview 

The Woodturning class offers the woodturning beginner the basic skills in tool control, turning methods and machine safety. Both spindle turning and faceplate work will be covered. Beginners will start with simple objects such as a 'Twig Vase', and progress onto more complex items by Week 10. Those who already have some experience of woodturning will be given projects of a suitable level and encouraged to advance their skill level and range of techniques. During the new 1-day Saturday workshop you will complete a couple of basic projects as you gain an introduction to Woodturning. Class sizes are kept small and there is one student per lathe, ensuring that students have a fully hands-on experience. Because of this, the class often fills up quickly and we have been oversubscribed in recent terms. Book early to avoid disappointment.
