Contemporary Embroidery Workshop

​Presentation of embroidery examples. Discussion on techniques, materials and tools.

Basic stitches: Demonstration. Students will learn and practice six basic stitches.

Main part:

Draw and design patterns for embroidery stitches using simple geometrical shapes, with repetition and the colour combination. Make it personal and bring some black and white A5 or A4 photocopies of your favourite family photographs.

Fabric suitable for embroidery: Callico. Needles, selection of colour threads.

Materials will be provided.
